Paul was a common octopus famous for predicting the outcome of Germany's 2010 World Cup matches. His career began during the UEFA Euro 2008 tournament.
Paul was usually presented with two clear boxes, each containing food as well as the flag of each team. Whichever he chose to eat first -- usually it was either a mussel or oyster -- that box has the flag that he predicted to be the winner of the game. Paul has correctly predicted the winner of each and every Germany World Cup 2010 match.

Death
Just last week, October 26, 2010, Paul died in his sleep due to natural causes. His remains will be cremated, according to the Press Association. He will definitely be remembered as Paul the oracle cephalopod.
